A Dream Car Realized - Kia Stinger Arrives at 2017 NAAS

We are back again amidst the excited flurry of activity at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) but this time Kia is bringing a whole new game.

This year at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Kia captured the attention of the media and spectators with the unveiling of our long-awaited and highly anticipated Kia Stinger. As the brand’s highest performing vehicle yet, the all-new 2018 Stinger is the first step in a new direction for the Kia brand.

A true gran Turismo, the Stinger boasts an instantly recognizable shape and name for long-time Kia fans. The newly unveiled Stinger is a direct evolution of the GT concept showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 and a successful outcome of dedicated development and fine-tuning by Kia designers and engineers.

Revealed to global audiences through a live-streamed event, the world premiere of the Kia Stinger came as a delightful surprise to kick off the New Year. Armed with muscular confidence and an eye-catching streamlined silhouette, the five-seater fastback features powerful engine options, a spacious but intimate cabin and top-of-the-line safety and driving assistance features.

Built for the journey, not the destination, the Stinger was brought to life at Kia’s European studio in Frankfurt, designed with optimized luxury and driving experience in mind. Created for a heart-pounding and captivating long-distance driving, the sports sedan was tested on the legendary Nurburgring circuit where it proved to deliver stunning and throttling performance.

Seizing the spotlight from competitors, the Stinger fastback promises the ride of a lifetime. With plans to go on sale in later this year, the world is certainly holding their breath for the curve ahead.

Unlike any Kia that’s come before it, the Stinger really is a dream car for us, and here today in Detroit, the dream is now a reality after years of commitment and hard work from a passionate group of designers, engineers and executives around the world.
